Bespoke jewellery

Lots of people think that bespoke means expensive, and when it comes to jewellery, the high street is best. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. For us, bespoke means having choice and freedom within your budget.  Here at Birmingham Stone Cutting we can help you create your perfect ring, bracelet, earring or necklace. Here’s a quick list of the jewellery we frequently help customers create;

Engagement rings

These day’s engagement rings often contain diamonds. The first recorded use of a diamond engagement ring was by Archduke Maximilian of Austria in imperial court of Vienna in 1477, upon his betrothal to Mary of Burgundy. Before this brides-to-be were often given sewing thimbles – personally we are thoroughly glad this old tradition has been replaced!

We’ve helped lots of brides and grooms create their perfect engagement ring, and we’ve used everything from black diamonds to ruby’s, platinum to rose gold. We advise on the cut, setting and more importantly, can help you stay within your budget.

Wedding rings

Traditionally a plain band of gold or platinum, wedding rings are the ultimate sign of eternal love and commitment. We are a sentimental bunch here at Birmingham Stone Cutting and there is nothing better then making such a personal, everlasting piece of jewellery like a wedding ring. We can design and create plain bands, plain bands with inscriptions, bands with gemstones and of course diamond wedding rings.

Eternity rings

Eternity rings are used to signify everlasting love and are often given by husbands to their wives on a special anniversary. The idea of an ‘eternity ring’ was created in the 1960’s by the famous diamond merchant De Beer’s, and of course, only ever contains diamonds.

Tennis bracelets

The tennis bracelet (in-line diamond bracelet) gets it name from an incident involving Chris Evert at a US Open match in 1987. Ms. Evert had been wearing an expensive bracelet with an in-line string of diamonds. During the match the clasp snapped and she asked that officials stop the match until the bracelet and diamonds could be found.

Birthstone gifts

With so much choice when it comes to gemstones we often get requests for jewellery to be made containing the recipients birthstone. There are two ways to choose the correct birthstone. You can use the birthstone list based upon month of birth, or the zodiac list, using star signs and their respective period.
